Gallery Talk

The Orlando Museum of Art is delighted to announce our upcoming Gallery Talk series, a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts to gain deeper insights into the museum’s exhibits. Beginning on May 16, 2024, and running through August 15, 2024, these talks will be held on the third Thursday of each month at 1:30 PM, offering an enriching midday break to explore the galleries.

Join museum curators for an informal yet informative tour of the Museum’s galleries. Each session will highlight different aspects of our current exhibitions, providing an inside look at the art, the artists, and the curatorial decisions that bring each display to life. This is a wonderful chance to ask questions, engage in discussions, and gain a greater appreciation for the artwork and its context.

On June 20, the Gallery Talk will focus on the Florida Prize in Contemporary Art, an exhibition showcasing some of the most innovative and thought-provoking works by contemporary artists from Florida. This particular talk promises to offer a fascinating exploration of the themes, techniques, and narratives that characterize contemporary art in the state, making it a must-attend for anyone interested in the current art scene.

These Gallery Talks are free with paid gallery admission, making them an accessible way to enhance your museum visit. Whether you are a seasoned art lover or a curious newcomer, these talks will provide valuable insights and a deeper connection to the art on display.

We invite you to join us for this engaging series and to take advantage of the unique opportunity to learn directly from the curators who bring these exhibitions to life. Come and immerse yourself in the world of art at the Orlando Museum of Art, and leave with a richer understanding and appreciation of the works you encounter.
