Art With Purpose

Experience the transformative power of art in an inclusive and welcoming environment with Art With Purpose at OMA. This program invites LGBTQ+ students, their families, closest allies, and loved ones to the Orlando Museum of Art for a unique creative experience.

Starting December 29, 2023, and running through June 7, 2024, each session provides an opportunity to tour the museum’s galleries and delve into powerful queer stories, identities, and artists featured in OMA’s permanent collection. Following the gallery tour, participants will engage in a reflective art journaling workshop led by a queer teaching artist. This workshop encourages self-expression and creativity, allowing participants to create meaningful art while exploring queer narratives.

Art With Purpose @ OMA is more than just an art program; it is a space for connection and community. Participants can expect to be inspired by the artworks and stories they encounter and to leave with a deeper understanding and appreciation of queer art and culture.

This program is generously sponsored by Macy’s and is offered completely free of charge. Due to limited attendance, preregistration is required to secure your spot. To register, please email education@omart.org.

Don’t miss this chance to be part of a supportive community, create meaningful art, and explore the rich queer stories housed within the Orlando Museum of Art. Join us for Art With Purpose at OMA and let your creativity shine in a space that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
