La CinOMAthéque: A Cinematic Journey at OMA

As part of the “Access for All at OMA” initiative, the Orlando Museum of Art is proud to introduce La CinOMAthéque, a captivating collaboration with the Enzian Theater, generously supported by the Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program.

Launching on February 15, 2024, and continuing until December 26, 2024, La CinOMAthéque will offer a series of six bimonthly screenings of experimental and avant-garde art films. Held in the Truist Auditorium at OMA on Access for All Days, these screenings aim to provide the community with free access to thought-provoking cinematic experiences.

On Thursday, June 20, join us for a special screening of “La Jetée” by Chris Marker, introduced by esteemed UCF film professor Jimmy Schaus. “La Jetée” is a groundbreaking work of science fiction, renowned for its innovative use of still images to tell a haunting and evocative story. Professor Schaus will provide valuable insights and context before the screening, enhancing the audience’s appreciation of this cinematic masterpiece.

La CinOMAthéque promises to be a journey into the realms of art and imagination, offering audiences an opportunity to explore the boundaries of cinematic expression. Whether you’re a cinephile, an art enthusiast, or simply curious to experience something new, join us for this exciting cinematic adventure at the Orlando Museum of Art.
