The charming city of St. Augustine, Florida, eagerly anticipates the arrival of the 3rd Annual St. Augustine PoetFest, scheduled from April 11th to 13th, 2024. Organized by Ancient City Poets, St. Johns Cultural Council, and Crisp-Ellert Art Museum at Flagler College, this event guarantees an immersive experience for poetry enthusiasts and literary connoisseurs alike.

Day One: April 11, 2024

The festival bursts into life on Thursday evening with the electrifying Beat Poet Summit, featuring esteemed members of the National Beat Poetry Society. Past and present Beat Poet Laureates will grace the stage, channeling the spirit of Kerouac as they share their poetic masterpieces. Following this captivating showcase, an open mic session invites all to partake, fostering a sense of community engagement and creative expression.

Day Two: April 12, 2024

Friday’s agenda is packed with literary treasures, including author discussions, seminars, and a keynote address by renowned New York poet George Wallace. The festivities extend into the evening with an off-campus open mic event hosted by the English Department of Flagler College, providing a platform for emerging talents to shine.

Day Three: April 13, 2024

As the festival enters its final day, attendees can look forward to a diverse array of activities, including showcases featuring students and faculty, book bazaars, and captivating presentations by acclaimed poets such as Claire Conroy and Ron Whitehead. The day culminates in an awards ceremony recognizing the winners of the St. Johns Cultural Council Haiku Contest, followed by a jubilant reception.
